About this refill

These pens belong in the same bag as the prints. They are for the captions, dates, and small notes that turn a stack of photographs into a story. The metallic finish picks up light against a dark page or a printed photo, and the 0.7 mm point writes cleanly in a margin without crowding a caption box.

The ink is acid free and non-toxic, and it is made to resist smudging and bleeding through the page, which matters when a pen sits next to a print you cannot replace. A soft rubber grip keeps longer writing sessions comfortable. Pioneer puts two of each finish in the pack, so a caption and a date can sit together in matching ink, or one pen can be saved for the cover while the other three work through the pages.
